Seventeen weeks down...

This week the weather in Sydney has been terrible! It definitely limited my options on what to do. It also makes me want to stay in and hibernate!

On Tuesday after I got home from work I did manage to force myself to go for a run. The weather was rubbish, but, as you can see it's still a pretty amazing view.

Thursday we headed to Jamie's Italian restaurant on Pitt Street. It has amazing food but the two hour wait was exhausting! The mojito's were delicious and went straight too my head! I was tipsy before I even started eating. I would definitely recommended prebooking.

Saturday I woke up and went for a run round the Botenical Gardens, I still pinch myself eveytimes, its just so beautiful.

I then met up with the boys and played basket ball and tennis. We have tennis and basketball courts next to our apartment, which we should use more often. I was terrible at basketball. No going pro for me!

The roomie and I decided to walk over the harbour bridge to Milsons Point. The weather was still pretty cloudy but the views were incredible.

We stopped at a fish and chip shop in Milsons Point. The fish was so fresh and tasted sooo good. I even had a cheeky strawberry milkshake too which was huge!

We walked to Luna Park which is just by the Harbour Bridge in Milsons Point. Luna Park is pretty fun for children, it works out quite expensive as you have to pay for each ride but it's fun to have a look around at night. There is even a bar there for adults!

We also got some great views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

Sunday was Australia Day here so we decided to fully embrace being an Australian (for the year anyway!).

In the morning we headed to Bondi to see the Havaianas thong challenge where thousands of people turned up to take part in the world record for the most amount of thongs in the sea! This year it was orange thongs. Everywhere I looked there was an orange thong! Definitely worth seeing!

We headed back into the city to meet up with the boys. We headed through the Botenical Gardens to The Rocks for a bar crawl. We had to stop by the Opera House to show the Aussies our appreciation! We even got Aussie flag tattoos (don't panic there temporary) on our faces and bodies.

There were loads of things to do in The Rocks including a market and musicians playing in the streets.

The first bar we headed to was the Orient Hotel where I drank my weight in cider! Then we headed to an Irish pub. We had a mixture of drinks as they were so cheap, especially for Sydney! We ended it at Bar100 having cocktails and sparkling wine. We also had chips, brownies and Eaton Mess which were all amazing!

We headed to the Botenical Gardens, to the classical concert which was packed with people! The concert had an amazing orchestra playing, it was fascinating to watch how in time they all were.

We then headed back to the apartment and had a few more drinks including my housemates famous strawberry mojito which is sooo good! While we were at the apartment we got to see the fireworks from the Botenical Gardens.

We decide to go out and headed to Back Door in Kings Cross. Once we arrived they announced it would be $65.00 to get in which is crazy! So we headed to Shake Shake which was free entrance. It was pretty quiet inside but the music was good so we just danced the night away!

Overall a pretty good week! Even looking forward to Monday as I have a day off. So that means a four day week! Yeahhhh!

My Top Ten Things To Do In Australia

I was lucky enough to travel to Australia for a month with my company previously. I even got a chance to stay another month to travel around by myself. So below is my top ten things I've done in Australia so far! Hopefully this will give you a few suggestions...

1. Skye dive on Mission Beach

This was the most craziest thing I have ever done and one of the most incredible things to ever do! I can not recommend highly enough!

2. Scuba Diving in the Great Barrier Reef

This was the scariest thing I have ever done, even more than sky diving! I did my diving with Quicksilver. I got to go on a boat from Port Douglas to their pontoon in the middle of the ocean. You can also do other activities such as snorkelling, ride in a submarine or walk through the under water tunnel.

3. Stay on Heron Island

Seriously the most beautiful place I have ever seen. If your looking for a romantic getaway in Australia this is definitely the place to go.

4. Drive a 4x4 and sleep in a tent on Fraser Island

If you love driving this will definitely test your skills as your driving in the sand. Also staying in a tent was also my own personal challenge, I'm not use to roughing it!

5. Sail a boat around the Whitsundays

We sailed in a boat around the Whitsunday Islands and headed to Whitehaven Beach which was stunning. Hands down the best beach I have ever seen!

 6. Visit Macquarie's chair

This is my favourite view in Sydney it's like a two for one package deal. You get a great view of the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge and it's even better at sun rise.

 7. Watch the sunset on Bondi

Most of us have watched Bondi Rescue and this made me desperate to see Bondi Beach. It's even more beautiful in person. I would recommend watching the sunset it's just incredible!

 8. See Australia's famous animals...

If your going to go to Australia there is no way you can leave without holding a koala and feeding a kangaroo.

 9. Stay in the Daintree rainforest

I stayed in a cabin in the middle of the rainforest. It was a great place to be 'one with nature'. There is also loads of activities such as zip wiring through the bush which was a lot of fun! I now know how Jane felt from Tarzan!

 10. Take the ferry to Manly

Perfect and cheapest way to enjoy a Sydney Harbour Cruise. Manly is also a lovely place to visit and the beach is perfect for those who want to learn how to surf.

I really want to explore more of Australia especially the West Coast.

Anyone have any recommendations or top tips to do in Australia for me?

Keeping you posted.

Sixteen weeks down...

This week I have been pretty poor...

After not working for two weeks I had all of $15.00 for the week! So I skipped salsa again this week and did absolutely no exercise which is very bad!

Work was pretty uneventful and quite dull. The only thing that gets me through, is that at lunch time I can sunbath, if only I could do that in England! For lunch I have sushi and a boost Juice which contains celery, cucumber, Spinich, grapes and oranges. It's soooo good, im slightly addicted!

Tuesday eve me and a few housemates headed to Soda Factory in Surrey Hills for $2 hotdogs. We then decide to do a bit of a food crawl around Surrey Hills.

We went to Cafe Lounge in Surrey hills for $3 pizzas, the decor was so random and very cool.

Then headed to RivaReno Gelato which was also in Surrey Hills for some ice cream which was yummy but not as good as Messina!

Friday eve me and the roommates headed to the Tilbery for after work drinks which was really lovely and chilled. We should really do that more often!

Saturday we headed to Bondi and sunbathed till 2pm. We headed to Bucket List on the promenade, with some friends to have some food and lots of wine.

We ended up spending most of the day there drinking! We headed back to the beach at about 5 pm. Some of the girls headed to the bottle shop for a few more bottles of wine. We pretty much downed them on the beach while enjoying the sunset. We then headed back to our apartment for Thai food. It really was the perfect Aussie day!

Sunday we ended up doing nothing!! I ended up spending way too much... no saving this week! Typical...

Fifteen weeks down...

Trying to decide what to do and where to go in Australia is much harder than expected! Especially when you are working 9-5 Monday to Friday it certainly limits your options!

Monday was the dreaded return back to work... Actually it wasn't as bad as I though it would be and the week went really quickly so it wasn't too bad! Even got a free lunch on Friday with a Pizza Hut delivery and a pavlova birthday cake. Not helping the weight loss though...

During the week I tried to go running after work which only happened twice but it certainly is an enjoyable run with picturesque views.

On Friday after work me and the roomie headed to Sydney festival at Hyde park which was very pretty. It also help to wined down with a glass of strawberry cider.

One of the stalls was Messina which is an ice cream shops they decided to use a carnival theme so they turned the hot dog and a Wiener into an ice cream version! They were sooo yummy and such a clever idea!

On Saturday we headed to Bondi to do the cliff walk and headed to Tamarama and Bronte beach which were both lovely. I ended up burning my face! Typical!

Saturday eve we had the girls come round and ended up drinking and playing games. I ended up drinking way too much! Oops! We headed into Kings Cross and went to Hugo's. We ended up coming back and all the housemates were up and a few friends were here too so the party carried on!

As it was 5 am in the morning the girls in England were up so I ended up skyping them which was soooo good to speak to them, although, it really made me miss home! I hate missing out on things!

Sunday as you can imagine was a write off! We ended up making homemade milk shakes and one of the housemates cooked us spaghetti carbonara! Perfect cure for a hangover!

Keeping you posted.
