Throw back Thursday... Heron Island...

After Brisbane I headed to my first island destination, Heron Island which was and has been my all time favourite place in Australia. I got a flight from Brisbane to Gladstone and from there a ferry to Heron Island. The journey on the ferry was very bumpy and lots of people were sea sick but once we pulled up to the island everyone immediately stopped moaning and realised we had arrived at paradise...
It was the perfect island destination. It couldn't have been more stunning that's for sure! If anyone is looking for a romantic destination this is it!

The island was like a resort. It had all the essentials including restaurant, shop and bar. They also had a spa. I did sneak off to have a facial which was amazing! All the walls were glass so you could see outside into the woods but no one could see in. Perfect place to relax.

The island is very well know for its diving and snorkeling but, even if your not interested you can even see the wildlife from the sands, for example, I saw a shark trying to eat the fish and  I didn't even have to enter the water to see it.

Stay tuned for Part 3 coming soon... Throwback Thursday... Melbourne...

Thirty Weeks down...

This week has been great! I love that it's been a busy week again. Plus it's been a three day work week which has been fantastic!

On Easter Monday the sun was shining so we headed to Charlie's for breakfast, which, is just around the corner from the apartment. We then headed to the Boy Charlton Pool to do a bit of sunbathing.

As it was Easter weekend of course it made sense to buy an Easter egg!

Afterwards I headed to salsa at Bar100, as usual it was great fun.

Tuesday the roommate and I headed to discounted Tuesdays at the Event cinema in the city. We watched The Other Women, which, was a really good laugh out loud movie.

Thursday was dance training, it seems to be getting harder and harder. My dance teacher pointed out that I need to dance straighter as I bend my knees so I had to dance on my tiptoes! Check it out...

Friday was Anzac Day here in Australia which remembers all Australians who served and died in the wars. This meant that we had another day of work. whoo!

We therefore, decided to have a champagne breakfast and spend the rest of the day drinking!

The roommates and I had a few friends round to play some drinking games, before we headed to a few bars to play 'Two ups.' This seems to be the standard game played in all bars on Anzac day. It basically means that you bet heads or tails and whoever guesses right wins the money.

We headed to The Australia Hotel in The Rocks to play this game. As you can see it was packed and everyone was playing along! We then headed to The Orient also in The Rocks to have a few more drinks. We ended up having way too much to drink so we ended up going to bed at 9pm!

On Saturday we woke up pretty hungover, but we had to prepare ourselves for getting back on it. We headed to Rosebay Wharf so we could catch a water taxi to The Island.

When we turned up we were worried about what to expect, especially, as the weather wasn't very good. However, the weather changed and after a few drinks we ended up getting in the mood. It therefore, ended up being a fantastic afternoon.

After The Island we headed back to our apartment to meet the rest of the housemates and have few more drinks before heading to Kings Cross Hotel. It was pretty busy there and the music was sooo good.

Sunday was spent recuperating even had to pass on salsa training, oops!

Hope you guys have had a good week too.

Keeping you posted.

Throwback Thursday... Brisbane...

I thought I would share with you my traveling experiences from my previous trip to Australia. Starting with the reason I went to Australia in the first place. All because of the Lions Rugby Tour....

I was lucky enough to come out to Australia with my previous job. I was an event co-ordinator at the time, which meant, I had to look after clients who booked tickets and travel packages with us.

My first stop was Brisbane for the first test match. We had clients based mainly in the Rydges hotel on the Southbank, which was where our office was based. I did like Brisbane but there wasn't much to do to be honest. I do want to go back though and properly explore as I didn't get much chance to do so, so maybe I'm missing something...

I did, however, find a great chocolate shop called San Churro which has delicious churros! I used to have the churros for dinner instead of having a proper meal! Very healthy!

I was there for a week, although, I did spend quite a lot of my time in the office working. I did, nevertheless, have chance to go to the first test match which was amazing to see everyone getting so involved in the game. The stadium was packed!

Stay tuned for part 2 coming soon... Throwback Thursday... Heron Island...

Twenty nine weeks down...

This week was a breath of fresh air compared to last week! The weather has been soo much better than last week. It's reminded me why I fell in love with Sydney in the first place!

Monday I opted to skip salsa and chill in the apartment. So on Tuesday I decided to head to Soda Factory in Surry Hills for $2.00 hot dogs and cider with the roomies.

I went to dance practice as usual on Thursday, although, my dance partner couldn't make it. It was pretty awkward to start off with but I danced with another guy and practiced the lifts with him instead. Check it out...

Afterwards I came back and headed to the Ivy but we ended up queuing for over an hour so we gave up and went home!

Friday the roomies and I headed to Taronga Zoo which was incredible. I don't usually like zoos but this one was sooo good and the views were stunning.

Friday evening we headed to Darling Harbour and went on a booze cruise along the harbour. It was so much fun we spent the evening dancing away with the most amazing views.

Saturday I headed to the Botanical gardens where the roomate and I made the most of the sun.

We then headed back to get ready for a night out. We had pre-drinks then met a few friends at the opera bar for drinks which was good fun. I don't think I will ever get use to the views there.

Afterwards we went to the Argle in the rocks, which was a good laugh, especially as most of the housemates were out.

Sunday was spent on the couch nursing my head after three days of drinking!

Keeping you updated.

Twenty eight weeks down...

This week has probably been the hardest since I've been here. I think it's mainly due to the fact that, in previous weeks, I've always had lots to do. However, this week the weather has been shocking, hence exploring has been limited.

Another factor is the job, as it's been pretty dull work. I think it makes it worse that there is no one my age so there's no social from it, so the days go very slowly.

Monday was salsa as usual which was fun, but there were loads of creepy guys there, which was pretty annoying.

Tuesday and Wednesday the weather was so horrible I couldn't bare to go out.

Thursday was the performance rehearsals. This week was spins, patterns and lifts which were pretty hard, we still haven't got the lifts down though. Check it out...

Friday after work we decided to have a few drinks at ours which included lots of drinking games. Afterward we headed to the Argle in The Rocks which was really good but full of quite a few old people.

On Saturday we didn't get up till late and it was torrential rain so we huddled up in front of the TV and watched horror movies all day! In the evening I met up with my old roommates as one of them is going back to England. We headed to the Opera Bar and had one last picture at the Harbour Bridge.

Sunday we headed out to Borough in Kings Cross for brunch. I had French toast with fruit and Nutella. The food there was incredible and the place was sooo cool. It reminded me of New York.

The roommate and I then headed to get a pedicure and went back to the apartment to watch more movies! In the evening I headed to Salsa training to get some more practice with the dance partner.

I hope you guys had a good week?

Keeping you posted.
